Peeling a kiwi...
I learned this new technique yesterday from a friend and tried it out tonight. It is great for peeling kiwi. Cut the ends off of the kiwi, then slide a spoon just under the skin on the side and slowly twist it around the kiwi until the skin is separated from the fruit. Then pop the kiwi out and slice it. Hopefully this makes sense. Katie
Hawaiian Meatballs....
I've done this recipe both my making my own meatballs and by using pre-made frozen ones (much easier and faster!) It's a good version of a sweet and sour recipe if you don't like the peppers and onions in the traditional recipes. You could probably substitute about a 1/2 c. of bread crumbs for the crackers. Katie
1 lb. ground beef
10 soda crackers, crushed
1 egg
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 brown sugar
1 Tbsp. corn starch
1 large can pineapple chunks
Combine uncooked ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, and ginger. Roll mixture into round meatballs and cook in skillet. Meanwhile, mix vinegar, brown sugar, corn starch, and juice from pineapple. When meat is cooked thoroughly, add sauce mixture. Stir until thickened. Add pineapple chunks. Serve over rice.

Welcome...
I've set this up in hopes that we can share new recipes that we enjoy with one another. Invariably I can never find the recipes in my email that I've had sent to me when I need them so this will hopefully be an easier way to find them. I'm excited to see the different recipes that everybody contributes as it's always fun to try something different. katie
